Eden and Zachary had grown up together. Her as the Betas daughter and him as the Alphas son and heir to the River Stone Pack of Colorado. Just months before Eden's eighteenth birthday, they are separated as Zachary heads off to begin touring neighbouring packs as part of his training to fulfil his destiny as Alpha and Eden drives away to pursue a degree in engineering in California. For three years, their commitments and the distance keep them apart. Upon graduating from University, Eden packs up her belongings and begins the journey back home. The closer to Colorado she drives, the more desperate she is to see Zachary again, her best friend. The man she had secretly fallen in love with years before. Their commitments had driven them apart before Eden's wolf had had the chance to fully mature and recognise her mate but she was confident that fate would have paired them together. Racing home, she is almost certain that their first meeting in three years will confirm her hopes that they are mated but as she arrives in Pack land, she realises there have been some drastic changes and maybe fate isn't on her side after all.
