Under the Pressure

After hundreds of years of scrutiny, deformities or over growth in a merfolk's appearance have been shed in a new light. Eighteen years in paticular have brought forth a genetic fault that brought about these Hybrids. They're no longer openly scorned, for fear of the royal family's wrath. However, nothing but scorn could be said behind doors and so the fake smiles and acceptance ensues. Prince Koi Nu knows that many see his parents as hero's despite their obvious conditions, but he always felt that there was something in the shadows that called forth uncertainty. Did they really except them or do they fear the power his dad personally wielded when he spoke? Is it the fact that the royal family openly breeds hybrids or is there something more sinister than he thought?

Welcome to the Pacific Ocean, where dozens of mermaidic city's are hidden beneath the waves by magic. Where racial scorn is just starting to take a turn for the better when new studies bring to light the reasons for their overzealous growth they assumed was over breeding or cross breeding of their species. One of the four largest cities of the Pacific Ocean has spent the last eighteen years accepting their royal hybrids and now they try to change the views of the world with their discoveries.

(This is an outline piece; I will get the story down, then I will fix any problems and or put it under a rewrite edit (it'll still be available to read, I'll just add crap to it) so I apologize for the mess above and the story within it will be perfected once I'm done with the chapters I have planned. I'm aiming for a cute and short book with lots of info to role into the next book I've got planned, so yes this is a series to come!)
