We all reach for a bottle, wanting to lose our problems in the haze of alcohol. The party goes absolutely wild. I down one bottle after another, despite my alcohol intolerant body screaming in protest. My vision starts to swim before my eyes. The glaring lights seem to get brighter and brighter...

Disclaimer: I DO NOT SHIP THE REAL HERMITS: JUST THEIR MINESONAS.

When Impulse, Zedaph, Tango, Grian, Mumbo, Ren, and Doc decide they want a break from society, Impulse lets them stay in the medieval mansion he recently bought in the middle of nowhere. There is no technology, no running water, and no way to leave until the bus comes and picks them up. Will they have a nice, relaxing vacation? Or will someone get killed in the most unfortunate way possible, leaving the rest to question their own innocence?

When trying to repair a mysteriously obsidian-clogged conduit, Impulse suddenly sees what appears to be a shark. Confused, he swims closer to get a better look... oh no. That's not a shark. As the creature tightens its hold on the server, bringing more and more of the Hermits under its control, and Tango turns up scared and with a broken arm, the message starts to become apparent: Trust no one. Not even your friends. Especially not your friends. After all, that leaves you Playing Open-Handed. This book is a sequel to another of my stories, The Lion Sleeps Tonight, but you don't necessarily need to read that to understand most of what happens. Enjoy! --- Story by me Inspiration and characters from Hermitcraft Witty comments (but actually not the lore this time) with help from ausforyou (Okay, this time I'm gonna put a monologue from Henry V because why the hell not, nobody reads this far into the description anyway: Thus says my king to Harry of England: Though we seemed dead, we did but sleep. We could have rebuked you at Harfleur, but that we thought it not good to bruise an injury till it were full ripe. Therefore, consider of your ransom, which must proportion the losses we have borne, the subjects we have lost and the disgrace we have digested, which in weight to re-assess, England's pettiness would bow under. Indeed, your own person, kneeling at our feet, is but a weak and worthless satisfaction of our losses. To this, add defiance: you hath betrayed your followers, whose condemnation is pronounced. So much my king and master bids tell you, so much my office.)

The Shadow's Acid

15 parts Complete

Mumbo threw his third egg at the target block above Grian's door. The white shell exploded into a chicken as he finally hit the bullseye. Noteblocks chimed, out of time with each other. Footsteps pounded on the stairs within the house, quickly followed by someone running into the door at full speed. The wooden door swung open inwards, revealing the smaller, red-sweatered hermit. "Hey Mumbo," he greeted. "What seems to be the trouble?" "It's TFC's death, Grian," Mumbo responded. "I don't think it was natural." -=-=-=-=- Medieval City AU This IS a murder mystery, so there will be blood, gore, and angst. I will mix a bit of romance in, too, although that will lead to more angst. Since it's a murder mystery, there will also be a lot of death and a fight or two. Or maybe three.
