Everleigh Verelli and her brothers are in the foster care system.

Disappointed, time after time, after time again, with no success being adopted, Everleigh loses hope in ever having parents.

As the years pass, she becomes haunted by her past, reserved, sarcastic, and overprotective of her brothers.

Going into her senior year in high school, ready to become an adult, a couple decides to foster the group of siblings.

Everleigh expects nothing more than rejection.

However, as the loving couple, her crazy new group of friends, and her adorable klutz, break down her walls, she can't help but wonder if there is a chance to hope again.

"Everleigh! You have to see this video of foxes! They sound so funny." Caspian says as he lays his back on the floor next to me.

"What does a fox even say?" I ask as he pulls the video up on his phone.

As quickly as he holds the phone above my head, he just as quickly drops it onto my face.

"YOU BUMBLING BUTTERFINGERS!" I shout as I hold my face laughing as he apologizes and laughs along.

All of a sudden I hear a 'hehehehehehe' in the background and I look at Cas questioningly. He shrugs, "That's what the fox says."
