A mission goes South and Robin is in the firing line from Batman- literally. 
In the face of Tony Zucco being let out of jail early, Dick seems distracted. Batman tries to bench him, but it leads Dick to an impulsive move that leaves him unable to return to the Team or the League.
Years later, Aqualad goes undercover in the Light, and his greatest obstacle is the strange man who works for Ra's Al Ghul- an impressive and deadly assassin known as Renegade.

Dick Grayson--brought back by the Lazarus Pit--whose now dead to the world is useful to the mercenary as his student, successor, and pawn. After years of being a toy to the contract killer Dick escaped and ran from himself and everything he's ever known. He now goes by Grayson Lloyd, but mostly referred to as Gray. He took his mothers maiden name, and returned to Gotham, but not as a hero, as something the city would come to dispute about. Vigilante. Killer. Hero. Murderer. Mercenary. He's everything in between: the gray area if you will. To the crude city he's known as 'The Gotham Reaper'. The Batfamily of course have something to say about this new vigilante. This is Batman's city after all.
