He was running towards the statue and I stopped for a moment, hesitating, but I mistered up courage and tried following him but my legs wouldn't move, it was rooted on the spot, everything around me started burning

"No...no'' I mumbled. The flames were high; too high, I won't survive this. Fear was building up inside me, I screamed for help. I started crying, I don't want to die.

"Charlie..." someone called me, the voice; it was so painful to hear, my ears were hurting. And I noticed that the statue, it wasn't burning and that the voice was coming from it.

"Come to me..... It's yours, take it or you might just lose everything'' I saw my friends burning, I heard my parents screaming. It was deafening, the fire was closing in.

I need to escape...

"Why didn't you fight them?" I asked her, not believing she just stood there doing nothing, the girl I knew was so daring that she did not need saving from these men, she would have fought them by herself. I gently held her arm and she flinched, "I'm sorry to trouble you. But thank you for saving my life." She said, her was voice low and her body shook slightly. "Hey calm down, you didn't cause me any trouble. And look at you now, if it were me touching you, you would've already punched me square in the jaw. Not so tough now?" I teased her a little to calm her down, but she just looked at me in surprise. Her green eyes were lifeless but fear was evident on her face. Her hands were balled into fists by her sides. "Aubrey, you don't look yourself. I don't believe it why are you..." I stopped talking, seeing the panic in her eyes which appeared the moment I started speaking again. Then realization finally sank in my head and I stopped her by grabbing her arm before she could run away. "Rose?" I said observing her closely. She didn't deny it. *********** They say opposites attracts, but what if opposites repel? When Aubrey finds out her twin, Rose, is alive, she would do anything for her, even if it means losing herself.
