(In fanlore/fanfic trope, Hanahaki Disease is a fictional disease in which the victim coughs up flower petals when they suffer from an unrequited love. It can be cured through surgical removal of the growth. However, when the infected area is removed, the sufferer's feelings for the person they love is believed to disappear, as well.)
