It was a cold December night, year 2011 when it all started. I was 7. My best friend Jon had recently passed away due to pneumonia. And I was lying in my bed staring at my ceiling stars, just thinking. When I heard a crash. No it was more like a lamp shattering on the ground. I got up quickly to check out what happened. I was just curious. I wasn't trying to cause trouble. But it all just seemed to... happen. My mom was sobbing. She had her suitcase out and was throwing her things in it. But the one thing that stopped me from interfering was the gun pointed at her head. My father's face was flushed red and there were bottles everywhere. One was broken on the floor, which was probably the cause of the noise. I started backing up slowly when I made eye contact with my mother. Her eyes were telling me to run. To run and never look back. But I was so confused and scared I didn't know what to do. But,... that's when it hit me. Literally. A bottle came flying towards my face and my mother shrieked. Loud enough to wake the neighbors because there were knocks on the door at an instant. My father's eyes were filled with fury, and slightly bloodshot. He screamed at me and told my mother to keep packing or he wouldn't hesitate to pull the trigger. I was so scared my voice wouldn't come out. My vision was red. Probably from blood which the bottle drew. And everything became hazy. I had blacked out. And the next thing I knew, my mother was gone. And my father was still drunk.
