When Yuka had twins she instantly knew that it was impossible for both of them to survive.
She tried anyways. Mikan and Haruna were raised separately.
One day of Winter Yuka fainted. Haruna, who was the more nervous of the two, started to Crawl away, crying, probably hoping to get help.
Yuka and Mikan were found by an old man, but Haruna was nowhere to be seen.
That was because Haruna herself had been adopted by the master of a dojo of another town that was visiting a friend.
That's how the twins were separated, even though they were united by fate ten years later.
