With a traumatic past, Kayanna is tossed from foster home to foster home before she finally ends up staying with a wealthy family on the outerbanks of north carolina for the second time. She soon meets the pogues, through her best and only friend, Kiara, but has a hard time connecting with them due to her social anxiety and habit of overthinking. Nevertheless, she slowly falls in love with the group, especially when she finds herself hanging around with some of the group without Kiara.
