"please, don't take my sunshine away."
The sunshine always reminded Beatrice of all the wonderful things in her life: the way the sun would beat down on her and her father on their hunting trips, the bright glow that was always in her younger brothers eyes, the light sunlight that would fall on their dinner table while the Thompson family ate. The soothing smell of the waves crashing along the beach on hot summer days. The sun reminded her of her life before. The simpler times, the happier times, the time before the apocalypse. Beatrice Thompson and her older sister, Ramona, had changed over the course of the few years since the change. But the sun never did, it continued to shine and make it's bright mark on the world. It continued to make the young blonde feel happy, safe, warm, and alive. Her father always told her about how he felt about the sun, which shaped the way she felt about it. The sun would never change, the sunshine would always feel the same.
Until she met Carl Grimes. He became a new version of her sunshine. From the moment he saved her he protected her as best he could. No matter what he did, he made her happy. Made her feel safe, warm, and alive. When he came into her life, the flawed world they had been pushed into became slightly more bearable. Until it changed, again.

Months now
I had been here for months
The sun hadn't touched my skin
Nature hadn't graced my eyes
It was dark
I hated small spaces
But dad locked us in
Told us he would come back for us when it was safe
He hadn't come back
And we were running out of water
And food
And supplies
What happened out there that was so dangerous
We knew it was a virus
But what happened
What was going on
We couldn't stay here forever
Time was running out
We had to leave the celler
