An Inconvenient Attachment - Steddie
To be honest, if Steve didn't have a royal escort every time he came and left the stables, Eddie would have assumed he was just another noble's child. But he was the prince. He had his pick of any maiden in the kingdom and all the riches he could dream of. Still, when he saw his escort outside the stables every night, he seemed displeased and one might even say wistful.
Eddie, on the other hand, was a glorified beggar, or at least that's what he had been before. He lived in a loft with a group of pickpocket boys. They were desperately poor, Eddie's job at the stables being the only thing keeping food in their bodies.
"Thank you-" Eddie bowed awkwardly, not sure what else he should do.
Steve laughed softly, "I thought I told you not to do that?"
"Sorry.." Honestly, how was Eddie supposed to not fall head over heels when Steve did things like this?
