The voice of the diva whose beauty and charm brought the most secretive and intriguing man of them of all to appear in the halls of the Opera Populaire. Whether you believe the tale I am about to tell is entirely up to you. But know this now what you learn here. It must never be told to those who do not believe in the Phantom of the Opera.

In mere moments, Erik grasped Christine by the waist and pulled her under his protective dark cloak. There, pressed against his chest he moved into the shadows of the wings, Christine blinked at the sudden darkness, grasped Erik's firm arm around her waist with her hands, then struggled to see what was happening through the thick folds of his cloak. He roamed the streets for almost four years, staying hidden in the shadows he made himself familiar with only to find his way back to the abandon and burnt opera house.
