Nomusa is rejected by her people as being weak and worthless, but she is anything but alone or weak.Said by the head prophetess to be the keeper of storms because of her grey eyes, she is faster than anyone else in her tribe and has as her best companion the young, pride-less lion, Abdel, who will protect her through thick and thin, striking fear into the hearts of her peers. With a heart of compassion and a spirit yearning to find freedom and acceptance in her final year of childhood and first year of womanhood, Nomusa will face the world as sister to the lions and discoverer of life outside what any of her people have ever known. Abdel as her loyal companion and teacher, she has nothing to fear. Together, they must learn the meaning of love and loss and become warriors facing an unforgiving world.
