Happy Pride!
Although I am a straight, cis woman, I am a LGBTQ+ ally. So each year, I hope to update to this "story" with my well wishes to everyone in the LGBTQ+ community. In each part - along with showing my support for the LGBTQ+ community - I hope to walk straight, cis people through this to the best of my ability. I've tried to research all of this to the best of my ability, and this is the one of the best ways I can think of supporting the LGBTQ+ community.

Crushed Underneath the Surface
For years, I've been writing in silence, creating worlds, characters, and stories that lived only in the margins of my notebooks and tucked-away folders on my computer. Writing has always been my escape, something I've done for myself-a way to step out of reality for a moment and breathe through the lives of the people I've imagined. I've written and rewritten countless stories, always hesitant to share them, never quite confident enough to let anyone else peek into the depths of my mind. How bad could it be to enlist your female best friend into helping you lie to your Christian family about your new relationship with your male best friend and about your newfound sexuality? Not that bad, right? Right??? --------- Nova Queen and Arizona "Ari" Matthews weren't always close in high school, but after an intense and serious conversation in the library one day, the two become the best of friends until they go their separate ways their freshman year of college. Now in their mid 20s and freshly out of grad school, they are reunited in the park of their hometown where Ari asks a huge favor of Nova that she later wishes she had refused. But in the end, will she really wish she had refused? *FA spans a timeline from 2010-2020 to help the reader see how the relationships were built between characters in a partial series of flashbacks. It also helps the reader to really see into the minds of Arizona and Nova as they age, and the effect different life events have on them.
