Ruby would never ever forget the day her dad died.

It would have been impossible for her to forget anything that happened that day.
After his death, Ruby is far from who she was before. Everything about HER, the person commonly known to others as her mother, is infuriating. In fact, the only thing that's important to her is possibly getting to know more and get closer to him, Cole. A boy whom she met by nearly random chance.

But then everything changes once again when Cole is forced to move away and she loses all the only real happiness she's experienced since the day her dad died. And then every day is just another old, unreal, terrifying dream because she's lost all that she has ever cared about.

And maybe, maybe she should just give up. Stop trying to be happy again. because in the end, when you lose everything you love most in the world, it doesn't matter whether you've ever been happy. It just makes it worse.
