This has never been a problem for Desmond since he hasn't experienced happiness in over a century. Enter Micah Lennings, Desmond's new neighbor, a bookish, handsome eighteen-year-old hoping to enjoy one last summer before heading off college who happens to be severely allergy to all things citrus. Both men's lives are about to become complicated when they bump into each other at the local library and sparks fly. With not enough tissues or Zyrtec available, will Micah be able to overcome his allergy for the brooding, mysterious Desmond? And will Desmond be able to suppress his vampiric nature long enough to experience a happiness he's never felt in his life, pre and post-death?

However in this day and age, vampires walked freely amongst the city. After all, they needed humans to feed and in order to do that, they had to blend in. The war between vampires and angels had to be kept secret from human kind, and the species had to stay apart.
