Twin sisters, Addison (Addy) and Elizabeth (Liz), aged seventeen and a half, have been brought into their respective Mazes at the age of fifteen.
One is in Group A Trial with an entire clan of boys. One is in Group B Trial with an entire clan of girls. Together they're strong assets to their groups and they communicate telepathically to one another in their different Mazes.
When two Greenies are sent into the Mazes, Thomas and Rachel, the twins band together with the Greanbeans in order to escape the Mazes. Along the way through survival, the girls find themselves becoming stronger than they thought they'd be.
"One of the Gladers got stung by a Griever and without a way to save him, we had to banish him to the Maze. He's gonna die, no doubt about it."
"Hmm. We encountered a Shade today in the Maze. I had to leave behind one of my Skaters."
"But you had to save everyone else, too." Addison thought, knowing Elizabeth had done the right thing.
"Exactly."

Just like so many others, she arrived in the maze with no memory but her name: Skylar. She escaped the horrid maze and was rescued. But no matter what these "rescuers" told her, she knew something was wrong. Along with some other kids, including an intriguing blonde headed boy, she escapes from the so-called "rescuers" and heads into the outside world not knowing what comes her way. Struggling with her memories, she must survive the dangers the world holds for her and her companions. She doesn't know why she has the ability to do certain things. For instance, knocking someone out in less then five seconds, or, knowing how to use a small pocket knife to take someone out. As she continues her journey she learns more about her past. Discover pieces of Skylar's past in this first book, "Scorch of the Mind". Extra Notes: This story starts at the beginning of Maze Runner: Scorch Trials movie. He's not one for emotions either, especially in a place like the Glade. He knows something is off, and he does his absolute best to keep order around him and in him, when everything's falls apart. That is the life in the glade. No one knows why they are there or how to get out. They try to keep each other in a state of sweet ignorance. Just to keep their sanity. But the ones that were there the longest they know. They know the hard truth that would cause other gladers to lose their minds. These few chosen ones became fearless. Warning: As my bio says I am not a native English speaker, I am from Slovakia and English is just my second language. And because Slovakia is some lost country in the middle of Europe I didn't yet get my hands on the Maze Runner books in English I only read them in Slovak and let me tell you that isn't as good...So I will be mainly basing this book on the movie, of course using some things from the books as well from time to time.
