David is trapped in his shifter form, captured and forced to perform in a circus full of mages. He has almost given up hope of escape when he is contacted by a young girl, a witch in need of a familiar. He could be giving up one cage for another, but he doesn't have any good options.

When it turns out the summoning was faulty, both David and the young witch are in trouble. 

She meant to summon an animal to protect her from the bullying. 

He was willing to try anything for a chance to walk as a human and talk to his family. 

The problem is that it's illegal to make a shifter a familiar. And if anyone finds out, well, blood might spill...

She gains more power with each new strain. And with the witch's blood, the ability to heal others and communicate telepathically. She's learning as she goes and figures out a way to help stop her sister's shift and save her sister's unborn child. Furries are so beautiful and come with some yummy energy. She just wants to eat them up. ~*~ The alley that takes me to my car smells disgusting like something had died in it, it was dark, a dim light here and there with noises that sounded like a raccoon was in a garbage can. A fat rat scurried across my path, damn thing scared the sh*t out of me. My heart pounding I looked down watching for the rat as I left the alley and not paying attention to my surroundings.
