After the big reveal, Lena just wanted to never see Kara again. So, she just left National City, without telling a word to Kara or all the other Superfriends. All of them having no clue where she is and she left Kara heartbroken.

Even on Krypton, she was misunderstood. When she was younger and her mother asked about boys or boyfriends, Kara would always reply, "No, Mommy! I wanna have a girlfriend." Which was unheard of. Kara's feelings towards girls were punishable by death, much like some countries on Earth. On Earth, years later, she meets someone who makes it impossible to ignore her feelings, but she has never made her feel as amazing as Lena Luthor. Lena Luthor was raised in a home where you could be beaten for simply looking at someone. She didn't bother with love or figuring out her feelings about all of her friends. It just wasn't important. When she moved away and her brother was put in jail, she assumed that she was attracted to men. She didn't know otherwise. But when she met Kara Danvers, every thought she ever had about being straight was proven wrong. This was what love felt like.
