Valerie's life had completely changed since that one fateful day at the hospital. Will Louis pull through, and be by her side? Can he be more than just a friend? Can Valerie be strong, and beat the odds?

Louis looked up at me with a confused look. "What's wrong, Val?"

For a moment I was battling myself, wondering if I should tell him, or if the subject was too touchy. Well, even if I didn't tell him now, my gradual hair loss would eventually tell him something's up.

"I'm sick."

"Oh, that sucks. Yeah, I had the flu awhile ago, I was-"

"No. I'm. Sick." I closed my eyes, gritting my teeth.
