Memories were nothing more than lost pieces of tattered sorrow, a hazy past chipped away until little more was recognized...other than him.

Seven hundred and thirty-seven days spent locked under his eye, trapped in his embrace at the end of every sunset. Those cabin walls kept many secrets - painted many unseen horrors and captured heart wrenching screams of heartbreak. 

Her past was a ghost, an ache burned into her soul more-so than the scars marred into her skin and the countless tears shed.
Determination was a weak ember...but it was there. It was a flame waiting to spark upon wings of freedom - a family long forgotten and longed for. 

The world can be cruel - mockery the knife glistening against open wounds yearning for escape.
