The Assassin of Atlantis (A Novel)
A guarded time physicist and a covert assassin posing as her research partner are drawn into a forbidden romance when an ancient, sentient relic begins unraveling time itself. ____ Leonor Reid is a brilliant university professor of temporal mechanics at the University of Bayhan City in ancient Atlantis. Sharp-minded, guarded, and known for her work in time-state physics, she has spent her life decoding the past and tracing whispers of lost technology rumored to manipulate time. Meeting a stranger changed everything. Ander de Lara is the captivating man she met at an academic conference. A week of passion, never to be spoken of again, until he reappears a month later as her new research partner on a project around an ancient temple funded by the Atlantean nobility, also known as the sky gods. Ander is charming, disciplined, and far too composed for a man working in academia and excavation sites. What Leonor doesn't know is that he is not just a professor. He is an assassin, embedded in the project under orders to investigate a temple said to house a sentient relic. What neither of them expects is that the temple holds an Enunori, a relic and being of memory and will, capable of traversing timelines, crossing into lost futures, and rewriting destiny itself. As they descend deeper into the Enunori's timestream, the past begins to bleed into the present. But time is not their only enemy. What Ander doesn't know is that Leonor is changing, and she may be the very thing he was sent to destroy. Because something ancient is stirring inside her, and she may be the anomaly that was never meant to exist. To survive, they must break the curse of sky god violence. To love, they must unravel time and challenge the order of all things. ---- The Assassin of Atlantis is a fanfic based on The Assassin of Time by @RedPetal49.
