When Skylar leaves her former school behind her, she does not know what to expect at the local public school. She is excited that Lakewood High offers a girls ice hockey team, but when the coach of the boys varsity team offers her a spot on the roster, she is quick to leave the cliquey girls behind. An opportunity to play with this elite level team was one she could not pass up, as it meant exposure to college recruiters and a chance to win national championships.

Playing on the boys team as a girl proves to be challenging, and Skylar finds herself having to navigate the relationships between her coach and her teammates, as well as the politics of being a female in the hockey world. Additionally, playing on the team with her childhood best friend Tristan Shea brought them closer than they had ever been before, and Skylar begins to think of him as more than just a friend. His outgoing nature and charismatic personality makes it hard for Skylar to keep away, and being her line partner ensures that she doesn't.

Skylar's final year in high school is typical in its own right-- filled with friends, feelings, drama, and mean girls. But it is also filled with practices, tournaments, and 17 other boys. Will she skate on thin ice? Or will it give out beneath her?

25 parts Ongoing Mature
Fiona's finally had enough. In high school she was always known as the quite innocent book nerd, and now that she's older she's sick of it. She doesn't want to be seen as a little kid anymore, so she chooses to go to Queens University. It's a place where no one knows who she is and where she can have the perfect fresh start, except for the one really big problem. She's not the party girl she wants to be seen as. She's never been drunk, she's never smoked, and she's never even kissed a boy, despite how much she reads about it. Cohen just wants a peaceful year. It's his second-to-last year at Queens, and he's finally become the starting goalie of the men's hockey team. He has two goals: finish his degree and get drafted to the NHL, but when his roommate's sister and her friends start to hang around more and more, he can't help but notice the pink-haired girl with the quiet little giggle. However, when the two of them meet for the first time, Fiona doesn't know how to react, because she's seen him before, in a photograph that she spent time daydreaming about, thinking what it would be like to meet the goalie and to fall in love. But the difference is now that it's real, she realizes that it's a lot scarier than it was in her head. Checking Her Walls

47 parts Ongoing Mature

Sasha Belrose doesn't date hockey players. Not after what happened last time. As the coach's daughter, she's grown up around the rink, watching the game she loves be played by boys she can't trust. She keeps her head down, helps coach the little league, and makes sure her rules stay unbroken. Then Beckett Reid transfers in. Six-foot-something, cocky grin, golden hair, and a habit of finding her in every room. He's reckless on the ice, infuriating off of it, and obsessed with getting past her walls. When her dad forces them to co-coach the little league team, she's trapped in shared space with the one player she swore she'd avoid. And the worst part? Beckett doesn't just get under her skin - he makes her laugh, makes her feel seen, and makes her forget every reason she told herself to stay away. But Sasha knows what happens when she lets someone in. Beckett knows he's not going to stop until she does. And with every practice, every stolen glance, and every rule she's tempted to break, the ice between them gets thinner. And thinner. And thinner...
