A 23-year-old orphan named Amaris, found herself taking the place of the deceased heir of the kingdom of Ravalor, Princess Aleiah Veltigar. With her dying breath, Aleiah brought Amaris to Andalia to save her people from the upcoming bloodbath.

After decades of peace, the empire of Valenris decided to break the treaty between the kingdoms and massacred the defenseless Ravalorians. With Ravalor reduced to nothing but ruin, and Caerlon denying her any help, she is forced to turn to the dragons for aid. However, to prove herself worthy, she must pass the trial of the ring of the flames while unknown enemies lurked behind the shadows. Amaris must find out the motives and goals of her enemies as she embarked on a journey to discover the truth of her origins. It is a race against time, and the only way for her to win is to get a step ahead of her enemies before Andalia succumbed to the corrupted magic of darkness.
