Jessica is an ordinary schoolgirl, with an ordinary life, normal friends, normal parents, and normal, well, you get the idea.
Jessica is always reading, and reading, and reading.
She feels this strange connection to books that almost no one understands. The only person who does, is her friend Jamie.
They're always saying things like "books show us things we never knew about ourselves" or "they can take us to different worlds" etc. and Jessica (like everyone else) thought that this was just them saying something like "books can transport us", "books are like uniquely portable magic", "Reading is magic" stuff like that.
But one day, while Jessica was reading her new book, she gets so immersed, then...
Poof!
She was in a new world. She had left the material world of physics, science, and the laws of nature, the normal world where everything follows certain rules; into the worlds of magic, wonder and most of all, Danger.
When a not so ordinary book falls into the hands of a book hater, the tales in the book unlocks doors in her life she never knew existed.
AN EXCERPT FROM THE STORY:
**
As I lay my back on my tiny bed, a few inches away from my parent's at the extreme end of the room, I stare deeply at our ceiling, I realize it has a lot of patched holes, even Jenna who is only a youth lives in a house better than this, now I even compare our lives with a fiction character, is it now this bad.
