Hadley Fisher had a gift when it came to playing the piano and a curse when it came to getting along with her instructors. She had never been challenged or inspired until the strange Ms. Brunks began to teach. A melody so unearthly filled her soul and mind and yet the young prodigy could never replicate the sound produced by her instructor. Without warning, Ms. Brunks severs ties, leaving Hadley obsessed yet futilely trying to perfect the piece. Years later Hadley hears the same melody at a piano recital, only this time it is another university student playing the tune. Once again overcome by the music she could never play, Hadley finds herself swept up into a plot to spy on a god.

Yeah, that last sentence is not where you were expecting this story to go was it? It's fine. Hadley was not expecting it either.
