'This is kinda big, even for us.' James said to Sirius, trying to keep his voice down so the approaching figure couldn't hear them.
'What? Are you having second thoughts?' Sirius asked incredulously. 'I'd think you of all people would be happy to see old Snivellus get what he deserves.'
'Well yeah...' James paused. 'But we don't know what's going to happen, really. What if he kills him?'
Just then, the figure passed them, heading toward a gnarled tree a couple feet to the right of the bushes the two boys were crouched behind. As he approached the tree, a long, low howl rang through the air...
