Dark Light

People are so naïve. They assume that light is always good.
Is it?
People take light to be their representation of hope and life. They think light soothes their pain. Light for them is like a warm blanket that keeps them safe.
Light, for them, is good.

[Light chuckles]
"I am good?" It smiles.

People forget that the light from which they seek comfort can have them writhing in agony. Try looking towards light when celestial bodies go supernova. Try to save yourself when pure light robs you of your sight with its intensity. Feel, as it burns your very existence.
Light is what shows them all the horrors in their life.

Darkness swirled around. A soft smile on its face.
"Oh Light, what would you do without me?" It asks, tilting its head.

People think that Darkness is evil. Yet, they adore the tranquility of the dark night. The cool dark night brings them harmony. A sense of peace.
Hitherto, they fear darkness. Darkness is where evil lurks. Darkness is bad.
"Stay away from darkness" They say.

If Light can be inimical like Darkness. Then...what is good?
