Ezra Gomez was a Pogue through and through, and everyone knew it. She was destined to follow every burnout's footsteps, spend her days working for the rich and her nights wasting away the time by drinking and smoking on the beach. It didn't matter though, because she had her surrogate brother, John B Routledge, and JJ. Her and JJ's relationships was complicated to say the least, it was stolen kisses and shouting matches. It was hooking up under the stars, but sleeping with strangers to get over each other. It was Complicated. Neither of them could admit their feelings, but they had forever to do so, they were going to get old together either way, so it didn't matter.

 Or so she thought.

A letter from a father she didn't know she had arrived from a place she had never even heard of, talking about a family she didn't want, and suddenly she finds herself leaving The Outer Banks without a word, and moving onto a new life.

But Ezra's back, and the forever she thought she had lost, was suddenly back on the table.
