Mizuko lives in an orphan edge called Demon's Lake Orphanage. It get's its name from the lake behind it. Story goes, that a demon is sealed inside it. Mizuko doesn't believe such tales, and is growing tired of getting abused. When her foster brother picks her up from school, she decides that it's the best time to make her escape. Once at the orphan edge, she runs for lake. Her plan is to swim across it to freedom. The plan fails, and she somehow finds herself surrounded by strange people, and a strange green creature. Can she trust them? Can she survive?

She crushes on him as a teen, but he is oblivious and doesn't see her "that way" until she is in her 20s. It is mentioned at one point that Sesshomaru and Rin were like Toga and Izayoi, so I figured she grew up with him protecting her. I've always fallen for older guys and liked the friends-to-lovers tropes, so this will hit both of those. I've tried to include little Easter eggs and nods to Inuyasha and Yashahime. Complete but still likely contains a few errors here and there. Fan fiction disclaimer: I do not own this series. I love Rumiko Takahashi's world and wanted to add to it.
