Ka'Mira Renee Dixon was a sophomore at Penn State University in White Oak, PA. Being introverted and having mild anxiety, she had trouble making friends and having relationships. Feelings were tough for her and she never really talked much to anyone, not even her roommate. It also didn't help that she was one of the only black students in a school of racists. Despite all these troubles she did very well in school and was really smart. She never partied, stayed up late doing homework, and she never, ever dated. She didn't want her her heart to get broken. That all changed when she saw Rose. In an instant all her pain melted away. She made her feel a way no one had ever made her feel before. Could she be the one to break her shell? I quickly fixed my hair and make up, when I went to find Luke he was not there where I left him last.I started looking for him, he was nowhere to be found. I almost searched the whole school, when I was passing by the music room I heard muffled voices so I just stepped in the room and who knew my whole world would fall apart...there in front of me was Luke kissing Rose... I guess Luke heard me walking in because he opened his eyes but rose unaware about me was still kissing Luke. I couldn't take it anymore I turned away, my back to him and ran...I ran and ran making my way out of the school, every step I took was a dagger to my heart...because each step which I took was a step away from Luke.... my Luke .I rushed inside my home into my bedroom and finally collapsed on bed crying my heart out...that's it... The first time Mira saw him, he was bleeding. A cold night. A flickering streetlamp. He sat on the curb, knuckles split, blood dripping onto the pavement like ink staining a page.
