Updating the description on this as to not mislead readers. Bare with me, I have reworked this fic HARD for the emotional payoff to be worth it: A really slow burn- painfully slow. This story contains a romantic subplot (still applies to the character tags), but the main genre is a dark psychological epic AFTER the brutality of the Clone Wars. The relationship that develops is not casual, not soft, and not easy. It is built from trauma, violence, and emotional damage. This is NOT light romance. I wanted to clarify because I never meant for this book to come off as an eventual fluffy romance. While it does contain humor and soft moments with Rex, the main character is traumatically flawed as well as Crosshair (which is implied in TTB but never expanded upon). The Bad Batch: Tech and Vel
During the Clone Wars, the Bad Batch is tasked with a variety of missions across the galaxy. An unexpected addition to their team throws a wrench in the mix, particularly for Tech, who finds a particular connection with the disillusioned Padawan-turned-mechanic named Vel. Let's be honest... this is a slow burn, cheesy romance with just enough immersion in the Star Wars world to give us all a little vacation with one of our favorite clones. No smut, just PG-13 romance and adventure. It's like a mix of Pride and Prejudice and the Jim and Pam dynamic from The Office. Also, I did my best to keep a steady plot line and tried to think of all the potential plot holes or questions or whatnot, but ultimately, this was just an excuse to indulge in imagining a little romantic adventure for Tech.
