Maybe Jackal is an assassin. maybe she's devious and manipulative and secretly- even unknowingly- an animus.
...But none of that is her fault. she grew up in the Scorpion Den, where it is necessary for survival to be vicious and merciless to anybody who may be a threat.
You won't get any food if you trust somebody- anybody.
and that was how Jackal was raised.
