Mara Penelope Oneiropólos found it hard to be accepted in a society of perfectly normal people. Her unusually vibrant, blonde hair made her stand out, much like her twin brother, Malachi.
As a young child, Mara was completely taken by the stories her grandmother told her of her own childhood. But as the girl grew older, she had come to the conclusion that those stories were just make believe.
When their Grandmother dies of unknown circumstances, Mara and her family travel to Cairnholm in order to come to terms with the loss.
But, they find more than they actually bargained for.
