The man didn't promise her the world, knowing that not even he would be able to do so. Instead, he offered her something she couldn't resist, something she had sought after for all her life, something that she refused to admit to herself was she wanted. He promised that he would give her comfort when she needed it. He promised her his shoulder to cry on when she no longer could handle what life tortured her with. He promised to be someone she could care about and that he would care for her in return. He swore that his arms would hold her when she had the need for them. He assured her that she would receive affection and care when she craved it. He didn't promise her the entirety of the world. Instead he promised her a world where she could love and be loved in return. ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• We have been screaming for help since we learned how to speak. We have been screaming for so long that our voice can no longer work. When we finally stop screaming we go to those who will listen. But then we are condemned for not screaming in a way you understand, for not screaming loud enough, for not screaming long enough for someone to finally hear us. Our voices ache from screaming for help. For years we have hoped for help, doing what we can to make do and help ourselves. So I am afraid you have to forgive us if what we do after all we have endured is not exactly in line with the rules of society. After all, why speak to those who are deaf to your cries? Why help those who would not think twice before betraying you or those you hold dear? You made us this way. So do not think that just because of some title that you are exempt from the consequences of doing so.All Rights Reserved
