Warren is a young Alpha who has taken over a once volatile pack. After feeling antsy, Warren comes across an injured, unknown she-wolf. His connection with her is instant. She comes with a lot of questions- who hurt her? why is she running? Then the attacks start to happen. The rogues are breaking his borders and leaving carnage in their wakes as they all but evaporate mere seconds before his warriors arrive. Warren decides to team up with an Alpha from a neighboring pack to combat the attacks and to find out who exactly is causing all these problems.
Aubrey can't remember much before she found herself waking up to an unknown place. She is recovering from silver poisoning and trying to fight the connection she has with the Alpha of this pack. She refuses to fall victim to her emotions, but why, she cannot figure out. All she has to remind her that she was on the run are the scars running down her back, and a bite mark on her hip. He finds her, and because of her dormant wolf, he thinks she's human. Soon she goes missing, because her pack members sold her to a rogue pack. Alex searches, and searches, but cannot find her. Her wolf has to completely go dormant, because it's just causing her pain and she would died of she didn't. Alex thinks that she's dead, because he felt the connection between them break. He finds another girl to be his mate, and when Ashleigh is found, she is heartbroken. Not only was it her pack that made her suffer through all that because they sold her, but her mate had given up on her because her wolf had to go into dormancy. She falls into severe depression, and develops a form of PTSD, that was formed from the shock she had from her pack and mate's betrayal. She isn't happy anymore, and that brightness she had in her personality is gone, leaving a husk of her former self.
