Old converse slap the forest floor. My thoughts were all muddled, I couldn't think clearly. Looking back all I could see was darkness. Taking deep breaths I leaned on a tree.
"Where are you Rose?" Hissed my mother.
I couldn't take it anymore, life at home was hell. On a regular basis I got beaten, cursed at, or spat on. So I decided to run away. I knew I couldn't hide In the forest for long because my mother would find me eventually. I wish my dad was here. Ever since he passed away my mother twisted into a horrible monster.
"Where are you rose?"
I could practically hear my mother's voice hissing into my ear. Tieing my long brown hair into a ponytail I collected myself and went to my usual hiding place. A treehouse I made with my dad as a little kid. Stumbling over twigs and rocks until I found my treehouse. My mother doesn't know about it. I knew I was safe here. Curling up in a ball, I grabbed my thin blanket and tried to steady my breath. I won't go back this time. Not ever.
