Emma Smith is an ordinary girl with an ordinary life. But when she was careless and got run over by a car, she dies. Emma doesn't think she has done anything wrong in her life, and it makes her wonder especially because she is stuck in the underworld. Out of all places. She later meets a boy called Liam Mason and he teaches her how to 'survive'. He also tells her about having to wait ten years before 'they' will determine wether Emma will be worthy and behave to live again or move up a grade. With challenges facing them and a evil master and his servant having something against Emma; and trying to stop her from figuring out why she got placed here in the first place, will Emma uncover secrets from her past, or will she be trapped there forever?
(Also in case you were wondering the Underworld here is referred to Hell but we just changed it up a bit. This is also book 1 of the Deserve to Die trilogy)
