"What the hell??" I shouted watching him standing at the door all smirking
"Won't you invite me inside?" He asked me with a smirk dancing on lips
I am about to bang the door on his face and stopped on track listening to my brother
"Mr. Kohli what a surprise please welcome", my brother invited him into the house saying 'sorry' for my act
He entered the house not taking his eyes of me which made me gulp the lump in my throat and many questions raising in my head..
Who is he? Why is he behind me?

❝Bhoot pret nikat nahi aavey, Mahavir jab naam sunavey...❞ It was late at night, when I heard a knock on the window. I froze hearing the knock. Slowly, I got up from my study table and tiptoed toward my bed, trying to decide if I should check the window. But something told me not to, so I climbed on the bed instead. I'm not opening that window. I know how in horror movies, the main character hears some creepy noise and runs straight towards it. Like hello? do they not care there could be a whole-ass ghost waiting to jump on them? Another knock. I squeezed my eyes shut, gripping the blanket tightly. If this is how I die, I swear I'm haunting the ghost back. I was on the verge of running to wake up my parents when I heard a sneeze and then... my name whispered slowly. "Pratiksha." It clicked in an instant. Oh god! I shot up from the bed, hurriedly unlocking and opening the window. Before I could even react, he tumbled through and fell directly on the floor with a thud. I gasped in shock, half laughing but also panicking at the sight of him in my room. "How did you-" I started to ask, but he quickly clamped his hand over my mouth. I stared at him. He leaned in closer and whispered, "Don't make noise, or we'll both be in trouble." What. Is. Happening. ~~~ If overthinking was a sport, she would have won every time. He, on the other hand, one moment, he was the smoothest guy around. The next, he was doing something completely silly just for fun. Together, they were like a perfect mess. But a twist of destiny tore them apart. Six years later, they met again, the love that once bloomed was now buried under layers of hatred, from both sides. Could they move past the hurt, the anger and the six years that had turned them into stranger?

Tropes Forced Arranged marriage Enemies to lovers Banter Billionaire North Indian X South Indian Best friend's brother Sassy heroine Smut "Where are you lost, Mirchi..." Karthik asked. "Mirchi?" He stepped closer, "Yes Mirchi, you are hot" he teased. Hridhaya turned away, cheeks flushing. She was pro in handling insults but...now.... That grumpy overgrown gorilla was flirting with her like it's his full time job. "Blushing?" "I am irritated not infatuated ." she said trying to hide her wild heart. Karthik smirked. "Again into insult mode? Makes me think you only insult me to hide your heart." So tried to act calm. "I insult mosquitoes too. Even the cockroach in my kitchen gets more attention." "if your mom hadn't forced you into this marriage, you'd have married that cockroach," he said. "And between you and it? I'd still pick the one that runs when I enter the room." Karthik muttered , "Damn. Savage." He grinned , "so you really prefer cockroach over me?" "Always." He threw a devilish grin and opened his fist and released the cockroach. It zipped through the air and landed on Hridhu's neck. She screamed, spinning in circles while flapping her arms like a malfunctioning windmill. She yanked off her towel, flung it like a cricket bat, smacked the cockroach off her chest. "Leave me!!!" she shouted at the cockroach as if it understood her language. I heard your mom addressing you as Nivi that's why " when this man sitting in front of me who is handsome and damn hot addressed me as Nivi all those hatred with which I came to meet him blown away. My eyes becomes soft and wet. I quickly put my head down and looked at floor to hide those stupid tears. " I think I can't even imagine any other girl beside me as my bride other than you " his deep husky voice made a tingling sensation all over my body. why this is happening to me? I came to say a no for this marriage whoever he is. I stopped dreaming about my future then why I am having second thoughts now. He remembers me of a person whom I really miss. The way he called my name as Nivi was enough for me to break that stone wall inside my heart. " Nivedita look at me once." I slowly raised my head and met his dark eyeballs. " I promise you I won't let you regret this marriage. I will give all happiness for you. At first it was just a business marriage for me but after meeting you I got admired by your simplicity. please say yes" he looked at me with those hopeful eyes. I didn't say anything but I nod my head as yes and he was overwhelmed by my yes. " Thank you, thank you so much " he held my both hands and said. ................ This was the last happiest conversation I remember which I has with my so called husband who is now laying on his bed and beating out of shit from me. I regret that each and every moment when I agreed for this marriage. I can't even cry loudly to forget this immense pain all over my body because if he heard my sound he might kill me and I can't die like at any cost. I need to survive and I don't know like what I did to this family they are treating me like a shit.
