Helena has always been the unwanted daughter. It took her parents ten years to give birth to a male heir. Even though she's always been neglected, considered as an alliance token and made to marry whomever her father pleases, she's always believed that in a world where men got to go to school and be whatever they wanted, she could change her future and take it into her hands. After all the attention is focused on the upbringing of her brother, she takes it as an opportunity to slip out of the house and mingle into the world of men. Arthur is the heir to a long standing dukedom, his father expects a lot from him so he's given him all the freedom he asks for in exchange of doing what's asked of him. On a night out with his friends he meets William a man that he immediately recognizes as a woman in disguise. He indulges her in her lies giving her all the time in the world to come clean to him and share her secret. But what happens when she doesn't seem to want to share her secret? And what's to become of them when his father forces him into a marriage he's not ready for? *************** This is a work of fiction. It's far from being historically or culturally accurate.
