(SPOILER WARNING- SPOILERS FOR ALL OF THE MARVEL MOVIES LEADING UP TO CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR. SPOILERS FOR ALL BOOKS BEFORE THIS ONE IN THE TRIO OF NON-AVENGERS SERIES)
Ava Wilder had no idea that she had been adopted by Captain America until he told her, which just so happened to be about 1 year after he started the process. This new relationship between them has grown dramatically over the past year, and by now, she was very comfortable with admitting that yes, she was now Steve Rogers's kid.
Of course, things had been getting strange. She'd gotten a new boyfriend in the process of trying to get over her last one(who just so happened to be Loki Laufeyson, the guy who nearly killed her 4 years ago) and she'd been trying to settle down and become as normal as a magic-wielding person can get. However, when she's called up by her new father, she has no choice but to hurl herself into a civil war between two groups of superhumans. As if she hadn't had her fill with fights after helping with destroying Ultron...
