Before We Sink

Julian Kekoa was supposed to spend his summer on the beach tackling the Hawaiian waves, but all of that changed after a near-death experience with the sea. Trading in his surfboard for a name tag at one of Maui's finest beach resorts, he's dedicated his summer to working and staying as far away from the water as possible.

Ember Parker has tried to wash the memory of the summer she spent on the island from her mind, but her mother's love for Maui keeps pulling her back. When her sister decides to elope in Maui, Ember is brought back to the very place she's been trying to forget.

Julian and Ember couldn't be more different, but they both share one undeniable connection: the island. Julian is trying to pretend it doesn't exist, while Ember is determined to understand the full beauty of the island and why her mother loved it so much. Who better to teach her than the boy who knows the island like the back of his hand?
