In an alternate universe, after a depressing event, such as loss, flowers will grow upon a person's body whenever they become sad, however this condition only effects 5% of the population.

After Hinata was defeated by Kageyama in a volleyball match in middle school, he gave up his dreams on volleyball and isolated himself after a flower grew on the nape of his neck.

Hinata hides himself in his everyday life and hopes that his condition will pass.

However, on a lonely night, Hinata meets the boy, in a convenient store, that broke his dreams back in middle school.
