Diseases of all kinds, poverty, malnutrition, violent acts and much more ruled the streets of the world, for this very reason the world powers decided to intervene, but as expected their "great plan" did not work, making everything worse. But they had a plan B, which, according to them, could control the beings they had created.

Devastation reigned, bringing chaos and death.
And the few humans that remained, did what they always did, survive.
