Nineteen years before the great war a child was born turning the Morrison couple into the Morrison family. Eleven years before the great war their father made a mistake. The father was a business man, and he took a job from a Solomon. The father promised hidden riches in return for a life away from the slums. The father ran true with his deal, and for some time they kept their word. Nine years before the great war the father ran out of riches. The family went out for a picnic. A visitor joined them. The father understood what was going to happen. One shot. The father lay unmoving, his forehead splattered red, pink mist blanketing the grass in the field. The sun was shining over the flowers that were being trampled by the mother, who carried their ten year old child. A second shot and the mother fell to the ground, still covering her child, who's face was painted red. The visitor slowly approached the trembling child as they pushed themself out from under their fallen mother. The child did not run, they did not cry, they did not wail. They watched as the visitor pressed a barrel against their head. Shouting could be heard in the distance. The visitor did not listen. They moved their finger to the trigger slowly as the child closed their eyes. A third shot, and the visitor fell to the ground, a red layer covered the child's eyes. The child fell to their knees and stayed there for hours. No one cares about gunshots when they come from the slums. It was dark before the child was retrieved, waking up on the floor of the Miko household, taken in by a well meaning family.

Everyone was evacuated from the home planet over 150 years ago. Our planet was dying, it was only a matter of time before our race was wiped out. We now live on a synthetic planet designed and built by our ancestors who came together from all parts of the globe to devise a plan to save us. We have lived peacefully for over a century.. Until now. Our lives were threatened when a mysterious and deadly virus broke out, killing entire communities at a time. The council says that they have a plan; they said that in order to prevent the death of more innocent people they will test every man, woman, and child for signs of the virus. Any person found to have been infected will be quarantined, the ones who die will be given a proper burial while the ones who survive are deemed carriers and are to be sent to the home planet to prevent further outbreak. I was prepared for the people I know and some I love being taken away for the greater good, but I never would have expected that among the list of people being taken from my community, that I would be one of them.. I survived the quarantine. Now for the survival of my planet I, and the other Carriers must be sent to the home planet. I'm going back to Earth. (This is not based on The 100 but there are similarities.) (Some violent themes, but other than that is entirely clean.) Please comment if you have any questions or concerns. This is a first draft so it is definitely not perfect yet.. Thank you! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Where'd you learn to do that?" I asked about the intricate knots that he had tied so swiftly. He paused. "Jail." I glared at him in shock at what had just come out of his mouth. "Seriously?" His straight face broke into a grin. "No. Boy Scouts."

Will he risk his life and the lives of his people to avenge his late friend? Or will he become the next victim? [[word count: 40,000-46,000 words]] Cover designed by Anthony Creek *** He heard banging and screams, but he still proceeded to try the knob anyway. Which was already a dumb move. The victim wouldn't have struggled if the door wasn't locked in the first place. A voice yelled, "Help!" It came from behind the door. Marcus turned around to see if anyone had followed him upstairs, but then he saw no one except a painting on the wall. "Leonardo!" the voice yelled again. "Stop playing games with me. Get me the fuck out of here! Right fucking now!" "Gianna?" Marcus yelled back. "Is that you?" There was no response for a moment. He was assuming that the woman was assessing the situation. "Gianna?" Marcus yelled again. "Hey, it's me! I'm getting you outta here!" "Marcus! How did you get in here?" "Don't worry about it!" He punched the door knob like a clueless idiot, testing if it would break that easily. But he guessed not. All he got in the process was a half-broken knuckle. "Stay away from the door!" he yelled at the woman. "What?!" she replied. Marcus decided to take a few steps away from the door, positioned his shoulders at the right angle, and inhaled a small amount of air for his chest to relax. He allowed his mind to grab the momentum. Afterwards he called it a start and rushed toward the door, like an angry bull upon seeing a red flag.
