HAWAII, 1941
Japan strikes like a deadly Samurai sword and embroils America in a war, fought over the island home of the Polynesians and their ancient gods. At Pearl Harbor, a rogue Japanese pilot slays Laura, the beautiful new bride of Grant Hylton. An American Navy pilot, Grant exacts a terrible vengeance, culminating in fiery victory at the Battle of Midway.

In a fast carrier war, pilots live or die by POINT OPTION, the key to finding their way back to the ship. Two decades later, Grant cannot find his way back. Laura is dead and yet he still feels her gentle touch and hears her whisper in his dreams.

Is death final, or can the spirit survive? Unknown to Grant, Auntie Manalani, an ancient Hawaiian kāula, (shaman) promised the dying Laura to put everything back the way it was meant to be. Auntie Manalani always keeps her word, but after twenty years, she will need the help of those who went before and one who wasn’t even born in 1941.

A story of three cultures told through the careful interweaving of authentic history, wartime action, and eternal love, and given a new twist by a touch of ancient magic.

In the tranquil waters of Hawai'i, Hokulani and Nikau wonder if it's possible for a song to go on forever. ***** For as long as Hokulani can remember, she's always felt like she's treading water. Everything she loves becomes a means to escape from what's happening around her or, worse, the unsteadiness of her mind. She even finds her passion for music slipping through her grasp, though she tries her best not to completely let that go. And even though the arrival of an up-and-coming musician from Aotearoa causes waves, she's unable to fully enjoy her life. Unable to release that breath she feels like she's been holding onto ever since her father passed away. When her family is hit with complicated news, the Kahananui woman must make difficult decisions for themselves, including one Hokulani isn't sure she fully understands. But even when their choices are made, they bring up memories they've all been trying their best to forget, forcing them to face the reality deep inside the family's hearts. Hokulani takes refuge in the comfort her shared feelings with Nikau bring, but just because she wants something, doesn't mean it's enough. She knows she has a lot to work through on her own, and with the understanding that his year on the island will eventually come to an end, the two of them spend endless nights wondering if they can somehow make a song go on forever. » featured on @talesofthedeep @WattpadFusion @ContemporaryLit and @Ambassadors« All rights reserved © Stephanie Midorii, smidorii

"Gennifer Ortega," she felt a wave of electricity rush through her, her screams echoing off of the white walls. She tugged on the chains that held her to the table. "What is your name?" "Gennifer Ortega," her screams bounced from wall to wall and her tugging on the chains made the cold rusty chains dig into her skin. Her throat hurt from the screaming and crying. Her hair clung the her sweaty forehead and tear streaked cheeks. Her eyes were red and puffy and her body lathered in bruises. "What is your name?" "Please, you have the wrong person," she begged him her body thrashing, trying to get free and away from the tazer stick. She felt it press against her stomach and the electricity coursing through her veins. This time it went on longer than usual and she felt like she was going to explode from the pain. She was sure her screams could be heard through the walls but yet again no one has come for her. "What is your name?" "Please I can't anymore," she begged her voice thick from the crying and screaming. Her whole body hurt and she could feel the blood oozing from the wounds that the chains had caused. She felt the stick press into her side and burn into her skin. She didn't have enough strength to scream so al she did was cry choking out sobs that hurt more than they should've.

Her face contorted with disgust. He chuckled and gently tugged her nose, 'All in good time, Anamika. The cosmos waits for everyone.' She was surprised, 'It does?' He nodded, 'Of course it does. How else would you explain the coexistence of so many souls?' 'I thought they just went on. The higher souls go to the Devlok and they forget about us.' He shook his head, 'No, they don't. Indeed, they stay there in the Devlok for some time but when they're done enjoying the fruit of their good deeds, they go back to the Prithvilok.' He paused, 'It's birth and death over and over again.' ; Join Anamika and Keval as they venture into the depths of war and death- from normal beings of the earth to the strongest of the two warring realms. Both felt worthless, both were broken, both were afraid. But worthlessness can be fought, brokenness can be mended, fears can be faced. They feared for themselves for the Heaven they were promised seemed lost, gone to waste. . . . #1 in Sunflower Awards 2.0 #2 in The Sapphire Awards
