Karma, or Kaye as she prefers, is 'the' publication writer that EIC's always sets as an icon to other staff members. She passes her articles on time, attends weekly meetings, checks their group announcements and has a weird compulsive on proofreading. Sadly, she's now on the brink as she doesn't fact checks mobile numbers and missents interview reminders without knowing.
On the bright side, she earned something better than an interview. Or did she?

It was a complete three-sixty. From the girl casually winding up at the bar who suddenly turned into someone's pretend girlfriend, Nastia Kahlila Quijano never saw it coming. She wasn't supposed to give into someone who were clear and upfront with their boundaries. There was no other choice but to treat him as an off-limit, like a whiskey bottle hanging at the top shelf-seemingly invisible to her eyes. After all, Nika was only returning a favor. Pretend relationships were bound to end anyway. But the thin line between their make-believe and their reality were beginning to blur. They couldn't draw out what's real and what's made up anymore. Then the boundaries began to solidify and the haze was gone. The line became clearer than before, reminding Nika why it existed in the first place. Maybe it was too soon. If houses have termites and rice fields have rats, I, on the other hand, have Clark Ethan. Siya ang peste sa buhay ko. A damn good-looking pest, my cousin would say. But still a pest nonetheless. He's practically everywhere, every time, almost everyday. His mere presence pisses me off and although I've made it very clear to him that we can't be more than friends, he just don't seem to get it. I don't know what else to do so he'll leave me alone. Until he came up with a very tempting deal. One date. Just one date at tatantanan na niya ako. One date kapalit ng katahimikan ko.
