Set after Chens tournament of elements. Kai has left the ninja on a mission to find himself while Skylor has joined the ninja. But a threat soon rises from the far lands of Ninjago with fire being one of the only things that can harm them.

Kai thought that they were ready, that they had trained enough to fight against the Overlord and his army of Stone Warriors. But after losing Jay, Cole, Zane, Nya, and Lloyd to the Overlord, the fate of Ninjago fell onto his shoulders. Can Kai handle the pressure, or will all of Ninjago fall prey to the Overlord's clutches?

He tried to find where Nya was adopted at but there was no luck and soon after that the orphanage kick kai out as they didn't want to deal with him. He was force to live off the streets for years but when he came across a kid that remind Kai of the hardship of living on the streets, he just had to take him in as his own brother.
