The world had been in an undisturbed peace ever since 'the selected' had saved and reshaped it into a much better place. But now, concerns are highlighted, as unforeseen happenings begin to unfold.
As regular humans go about their daily and normal lives, those with more knowledge prepare for the worst, as they silently hope 'the selected' would rise again and once more save them all from what was about to come.
---------------------------
Sneak Peak:

The sky was unusually dark and gloomy, as if it knew what was about to come. Edward and the others had trained for what seemed like a long time and finally, their day of reckoning had arrived. Tomorrow would be the fight of their lives, the fight for their world and their families, if they still had any. But it didn't matter, they would put an end to all of this, even if it cost them their lives.
Edward gazed at the stars with a heavy heart, he was deep in thought as his mind rummaged through all that had happened so far. A lot had changed and he missed school, he missed his parents, he missed being am ordinary normal kid.
He was lost in thought and was oblivious to his surroundings until he felt someone touch him from behind, coming back to the present, he turned around to meet Sonya staring at him.
"Can't sleep either?" She asked him in a somber tone
He averted his eyes from her and once more stared at the stars, then he looked back at the way she had come and replied;
"I doubt if any of us can sleep, this will be very different from training drills" he said solemnly
"Yeah" she replied as she also looked away with her own thoughts clouding her mind
"Never thought I could go from being a regular high school kid to some kind of weird warrior magician" Edward commented as he tried to ease the tension in the air a bit.

"We will make it out alive, right?" Sonya asked with deep concern as she wasn't sure if she had just made a sentence or asked a question.
 "Yeah, we will, we have to" he replied

She said and her face turned ecstatic and I blinked and shook my head. "No, please, I need you to tell my mother that I didn't mean to do do this to myself." I took a hard gulp and met the young girls eye. "Please. It is killing her." She begged and tried to grab my hand but it went through me. "Fine, which one is she?" I asked looking around the restaurant. "The one at the front desk... her name is Maria." She said following me as I walked back towards the front. "A? Where are you going?" Ivory asked and I just held up my hand. "Hi, are you Maria?" I asked and saw the girl nod. "Yes, how can I help you?" She asked with what I can tell was a fake smile. "I know this is going to sound crazy... but your daughter is here." "Mina." The dead girl piped in and I looked over at her. "My daughter is at school." She said and looked around where I had glanced. "Mina is here... I can speak to the dead, she wants me to tell you something."

"Get out," I said in a firm voice, but it shook a bit at the end. The muscles in his jaw tensed when I said that. Instead of getting out, he closed the door and started taking calculative predatory steps toward me. His eyes moved all over my length. My heart started to drum fast. It made me take a step back until my back was flat against the wall. "I said get out," I repeated, trying to sound firm when he was only a step away from me. He stood in front of me with his hands in his pants pocket. "Last time I checked, I still own this place," he said arrogantly in his deep voice, which made me want to sink into the wall. He stood in front of me. "But it's my workplace," I breathed out when he cut an inch of distance between us. His body was not touching me, but my body still twitched as if his calloused hands were moving all over me. I lowered my eyes and took a deep breath to calm myself, but my heartbeat raised when I heard steps coming towards us. "Someone is coming. Go from here," I found myself pleading. The steps became louder as if the person were just a few steps away from opening the door. I don't want rumours to be spread here. An evil smile formed on the corner of his lips looking at the distress on my face. "I'm not afraid to be seen with my wife," he said in his deep, low voice, sending shivers down my spine. My eyes snapped towards him in anger. I know he was doing this on purpose because no one here knows we are married. Why is he breaking the deal?

I watched him watch me as he was about to press his fist into the big red button that read "Emergency Fire!". I was unable to form words because, I thought about how hot he looked as he stared back at me with such intensity. It just intrigued me. I finally snapped out of my trance, but not because I'd came to my senses, but because I felt a cold sensation running down my body. I blinked about three times before it finally registered that he'd pressed the button and now water was spilling from the roof, and some students were laughing and playing. My breath hitched in my throat as he came closer. "You really should've worn a more, I don't know, a thicker shirt or bra. Because your two lovely friends are standing at attention." as the words left his mouth, realization caught up to me and I flushed with embarrassment and quickly crossed my arms over my chest. Talk about scarred for life! Jerk. Meet Charm Mill, your typical nerdface. She's the smartest girl in school, straight A's, great punctuality.. eveything in the book. She's also the invisible girl. But, what happens when Heath Cullen gets himself in trouble because he's not performing the way he should and the principal forces Charm to tutor him? Will this be a ticket to hell or a ticket for the bad boy to find his true love? Copyrighted. ©

He was her rock, her best friend, her first love. He became her worst nightmare, her tormentor, her captor She was his everything. His obsession. Their story should have ended with that court case, but he's found a way back to her, and he won't give her another opportunity to escape. Not this time. ------------------------------------------- Shivering, I sobbed out, unable to speak, unable to move. "Shh, shh, now baby-girl, it's alright, you're safe, don't cry" he soothed, moving closer to me. "N-Noah, I w-want to go home," I sobbed, feeling weak from my inability to talk without stuttering. A gasp left my parted lips as his hand forcefully connected with my cheek, "You are home, so I don't want to hear that crap from you, okay?" shaking, I looked down at my feet, his gaze too menacing to hold. "I said, do you understand" he spit through clenched teeth, "y-yes, I'm sorry" I whispered, a new wave of tears making their appearance. "Good girl, now I need you to keep being a good girl, okay?" nodding, my eyes met his dark ones. His form towered over me, making me feel small and irrelevant. "Words, Embry!" He demanded as I stuttered out a quiet yes. I studied him cautiously as he walked towards the far end of the room, shuffling through drawers before stalking back towards me and crouching down. I sucked in a breath as I saw the knife in his hand, his face held a mischievous grin as it glinted in the light. "Now baby-girl, you see, as much as I hate to, you need to be punished, do you know why?" Warning! Dani was never anyone special-at least, that's what the world made her believe. Bullied and overlooked in high school, she spent her days wrapped in old sweaters, buried in books, and enduring relentless torment from Lacey, the school's cruelest queen bee. One day, the bullying turned fatal-a shove, a fall, and darkness. But death was not the end. Dani awakens in Salkesh, a realm of wild magic, ancient forests, and whispering dragons. Pulled across worlds by an unknown force, she finds herself in a land where magic pulses through the earth and the stars remember forgotten gods. She's discovered by Mira, a hardened rogue orphaned by the streets, who takes Dani under her wing after glimpsing a strange light flickering in her green eyes. They are soon joined by others: Leo, a grieving elven druid who once tended the sacred World Tree; Taren, a former paladin broken by guilt and failure; Larimar, a Sunborn cleric bound to duty but learning to feel; and Belynna, a merfolk swordmaster betrayed by her own blood. Each carries pain, secrets, and purpose-but they unite to protect Dani, whose magic is unlike anything the realm has seen in centuries. She is the final Dawn Bearer, chosen by Eos, the forgotten Goddess of Dawn. The light that flows through her is ancient and divine-a last spark meant to rekindle hope in a world teetering on the brink. Their journey lies at the center of a growing darkness, the Whispering Citadel, once a holy sanctuary, now corrupted by void magic and the blood of sacrificed mages. It is there that a malignant force gathers-one that hungers for Dani's light. As her powers awaken, Dani evolves from a frightened, forgotten girl into a beacon of defiance and hope. Through every wound, sacrifice, and choice, she discovers her strength was never in what the world denied her-but in what she dares to become. And when the end comes, it is her dawn that must rise.

⚠️ MATURE⚠️ This story contains strong use of language and mature scenes. If you are offended easily do not read. •.• I snuggled into the comfortable warmth of the fluffy pillow as I was eager to go back to sleep. The fan lullabied me into a hazy state. Suddenly, a heavy weight landed on my waist, pulling me from the tired daze. I leaned up in shock as my hands flung forward defensively to push whoever was on me off. With a strong force, my shoulders were shoved backwards and into the mattress. Grunts of struggle filled the room as we fought each other. The offender grabbed my wrists and held them firmly above my head with one strong hand. Sobs of terror escaped from my chest as a thumb caressed my cheek to wipe away the spilled tears. "P-please let go of me," I begged, trembling. "You are so beautiful." A man's voice spoke, his large hand leaving my face and traveling down my body to squeeze my pelvic region. "Stop." I screeched, my demand ricocheting between the four bedroom walls. The man growled darkly. "If you scream again, I will kill you." I nodded keenly in response to show that I would not challenge his threat. His hand slowly freed my mouth, testing if I would disobey him. He reached into his pocket. A knife, zip tie, and a rag were all revealed. The view made me realize that this could be my last chance to get help. If I did not call out right now, he would take me. I would not make it out alive either way. I let out a bloodcurdling scream loud enough to wake up the whole neighborhood.

"Just a little further!" Cassandra panted, glancing back over her shoulder. The sounds of pursuit were fading, but she knew it wouldn't be long before the soldiers regrouped. "We have to keep moving!" Abel's pace faltered, and he pulled her to a halt, his expression suddenly serious as shadows flickered across his features. Cassandra breath hitched in her throat, a sense of foreboding creeping in. "What are you doing?" she asked, her heart thudding against her ribs. "I can't take you with me," Abel said, his voice low and firm. "I have to go on alone." Her heart sank. "What? Abel, you can't be serious! We are stronger together. We've made it this far, haven't we?" Panic stitched through her chest as she searched his eyes. He took a deep breath, his expression resolute. "You don't understand. The unknown kingdom the one I told you about is real. If I can reach it and unite the scattered allies, we can restore peace. But it's a dangerous journey, one I can't risk with you by my side." "Stop! Don't you dare say that!" Cassandra exclaimed, frustration bubbling over. "You don't have to do this alone! You can't just leave me behind!" "I have to! For us, Cassandra!" Abel stepped closer, cupping her face in his hands. "If I don't do this, nothing will ever change. The king's soldiers will continue to crush any hope for freedom, and we'll be hunted down forever. I'll return, I promise!" Tears filled her eyes, and she shook her head, feeling the weight of his words like a blade.
